5 Things You Can’t Miss In Milan

5 Things You Can’t Miss In Milan

In the heart of the region Lombardy you will find Milan. Famous for its boutiques and exclusive designer shops. But there is more. So much more that you can’t miss when you visit Milan.

Before we start with highlighting 5 things you can’t miss in Milan I want to remind you that you ask for a free tourist map in your hotel or at a tourist information point around the city.

1. Walking on the roof of the Duomo to capture the best view of the city.

The Duomo is the most important gothic building in Milan. The church is constructed over a period of 45O years (begun in 1386) is the eye catcher of Milan. The cathedral is open daily 7 am until 7 pm. You can access the terraces either by steps or with an elevator. You can find this cathedral at Piazza Duomo.

2. Shop exclusive designs at galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II or one of the luxury shops in the fashion district of Milan.

The most prestigious fashion district is Montenapoleone which you can find close at San Babila. In galleria Vittoria Emanuelle there are more than 55 luxurious cafés and exclusive designer shops all covered by a spectacular glass cupola.

3. Buy local products at the famous warehouse EATaly.

It will feel like you are shopping at a luxury shop full with typical products of Italy. A completely different feeling than just going grocery shopping. And while you there try out restaurant Alice. This one star Michelin restaurant is located on the third floor of EATaly. The chef here knows what she is doing preparing traditional Italian dishes with a whole new taste and look. I even had green risotto with plankton. Our article about this hotspot is coming soon!

4. Sip a juice in the secret green lounge of corso como 10.

This café / lunch hotspot is located on the corso como street number 10. From the outside it looks like a house but when you enter you will see why they call it the green lounge. Looking to escape the busy shopping streets of Milan? This is the place to take a seat and just relax.

5. Museums, museums and museums.

Milan has more than 80 museums in the city and province. For large exhibitions you need to be at the royal palace, for historic masterpieces there is the Brera Art Gallery, for modern and contemporary art there are the Contemporary Art Pavilion and the Gallery of Modern Art. Just to name a few museums to get you inspired.

These are our 5 things you can’t miss in Milan.

Q: What will you include for our next visit to Milan?

I definitely need to do that next time I’m in Milan. Did you changed the look of the blog? I really like it, well done. Kisses

Strolling along the Navigli district at night was also one of the highlights of my trip to Milan.

Haven’t been to Milan yet, partly because I always thought it was too expensive for a place where the main activity is shopping. You gave me some great ideas though! Putting it on the list!

Het is echt een toffe stad Kasia! Heel handig ook om vanuit Nederland te bezoeken. Wij zijn zelfs met de auto geweest ;-), maar ik denk dat vliegen toch net iets leukers is!
