Sofitel Bahrain

Royal Sunsets in Sight

Sofitel Bahrain is seated between Zallaq and some royal palaces on the central-west coast, approximately a 30-minute drive from the airport of Bahrain. The hotel is close to the Bahrain International Circuit, the Oil Museum and the Al Areen Wildlife Park. So if you ate a big fan of Formula 1, like Peter, this is absolutely a good place to stay!

Sofitel BahrainThe accommodation

The seven-story building houses 262 rooms that present French art de vivre with traditional Bahraini style. While the hotel looked really grand, it is undeniably homely too. The check-in was smooth and we loved that we could do it in the lounge. Their staff was kind and personal in attending to our concerns.

Most rooms are a standard size of 43 square meters, revealing beautiful views of the sea and balconies with views of the resort and beach. With at least five rooms to choose from, each with mini bar, spacious bathrooms with separate shower and tub, cordless phone and large working desk.

Wellness

The Thalassa Sea & Spa showcases two hydrotherapy pools and two floors of treatment rooms with state-of-the-art thalassotherapy machines. Normal massages and facials are also available there. We got a package for three hours and we haven’t had an equal experience anywhere! It was that good! The packing was so amazing we both fell asleep and couldn’t remember where we were. So relaxing!

You can also find a hair salon, a large gym, and watersports, including jet skis, tennis and squash courts for those who would like to sweat out some hours in their stay. There is also a kid’s club that offers free all day entertainment for children from four to twelve years old.

Sofitel BahrainRestaurants

The food is what we loved most about our stay here. We loved the breakfast – it has a very large variety and has a standout selection of fresh juices, bread and pastries, and yes, great coffee!

We also ate at La Mer. The French fish restaurant was so romantic and the food was on another level – so good! It offers lovely seafood soup and fresh fish that were absolutely delicious! Afternoon tea had a distinctive local taste and is equally interesting too. There are also sublime sunset cocktails served at Amber.

The breathtaking sunsets we witnessed here may have just outdone all the luxurious interiors this hotel has. It was really amazing that we can just heave with a sigh saying, ‘Ah, life is good’.
